Saskatoon StarPhoenix - canada.com network: Darlene Fichter, a data librarian at the University of Saskatchewan and an expert on blogging, says the relationship between bloggers and mainstream media is fast becoming a more complicated one: "At first, mainstream media tended to discount blogs. On the other side, some bloggers have taken the idea that they're the new journalists. Somewhere in between those the truth lies. In 2005, we're asking what is a journalist? We wouldn't have asked that just a few short years ago."
