Beginning August 15th 2005, Wiley InterScience will require individual users of the site, who access online subscriptions via a username and password, to update their registration information with a valid e-mail address in place of a self-selected username.

This new policy is designed to help improve security and reduce account duplication. Requiring an e-mail address as a login has become widely standard practice among many high-profile commercial websites. "
